Do not lock the mountain to one day
Table Mountain visibility and operations can change with weather. Put it into the clearest available window and keep a museum, garden or neighborhood plan ready to swap in. This simple rule protects the trip from a rigid itinerary.
Keep long days focused
The Cape Peninsula deserves a full day with selected stops. Robben Island also needs schedule and weather awareness. Avoid placing both experiences back-to-back if your itinerary has no recovery or rearrangement space.
- •Day one: City Bowl and waterfront.
- •Best clear day: Table Mountain.
- •Full separate day: Cape Peninsula.
- •Movable reserved day: Robben Island.
- •Final day: Winelands, gardens or coast.
Plan transport before each zone
Some areas are easier with a reputable tour, transfer or rental car than with public transport alone. Consider driving conditions, parking, alcohol plans and daylight. Use official visitor and transport resources for current guidance.
