Limit the route to a coherent loop
A practical circuit can connect Las Vegas with Zion, Bryce Canyon, Page, Grand Canyon and one additional landscape. Trying to include every Utah park plus California and Arizona creates long transfer days and little trail time.
Treat conditions as part of the itinerary
Desert heat, snow at elevation, flash floods, wildfire smoke and road work can change plans. Check each park’s official alerts, timed-entry or shuttle rules and trail status. Carry water, avoid exposed midday hikes and never enter a wash when storms are possible.
- •Use two-night bases where possible.
- •Refuel before remote corridors.
- •Download offline maps.
- •Leave no valuables visible in the vehicle.
Protect the parks
Stay on durable surfaces, pack out waste, respect wildlife distances and follow rules for drones, fires and camping. Indigenous lands and sacred landscapes require additional respect and may have separate access rules.
